As the rumors about the family of Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, keep taking different dimensions, many fans of the star are left in confusion.
The actress herself has remained silent on the issue. The only indication she is giving to her followers on social media are photos of her personal campaign against domestic violence. Comments are closed under the generic photos of campaign against domestic violence. She does not appear in any of the photos.
However, her husband, Lanre Gentry, seems to be trying hard to convince people that everything is fine in the family.
Last week, he said that photos of the actress – in which she appeared battered – being circulated by bloggers were from movies. This led people to think in the direction of a publicity stunt. But, does Mercy Aigbe need such? Would she do it at the expense of her family?
Mr. Gentry had also posted that Mercy would not have stayed with him for 10 years if he had been battering her.
The latest posts from the account set to private on Instagram are throwback photos of the couple.

Film-makers reject dubbing of Chinese films into Yoruba, Hausa

Top indigenous film-makers and actors that include Dele Odule, Jide Kosoko and Tunji Bamisigbin have opposed an alleged plan by a pay-TV provider, Star Times, to broadcast Chinese films dubbed into Yoruba and other indigenous languages. According to them, the development is capable of destroying the indigenous film industry. They spoke at a briefing held at the LTV complex, Ikeja, Lagos, last Wednesday.At the event attended by actors, producers and marketers, including Yemi Solade, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdurasak and Tunji Ojetola, they called on the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and the National Assembly to stop the move that they described as one that can cause cultural erosion. How kidnapped Lagos teachers, pupils were released

Kidnapped four pupils and two teachers of Lagos State Model College, Igbonla Epe, were ferried to safety in two speedboats by their abductors on Tuesday, it was learnt yesterday. The victims – Abu, Emmanuel Okonkwo, Jeremiah Ruth, Isaac Adebisi – Junior School Vice Principal A. O. Oyesola and English teacher Lukman Oyerinde, were dropped off inside a forest where they trekked for over two hours before meeting their relatives. Our reporters learnt that they were asked to walk in a line and not look back until they got to the point where family members had waited for over four hours. The vice principal led the pack and the English teacher was asked to stay at the rear, leaving the pupils in-between. The victims were taken to the Epe General Hospital for check-up.  Some of them were diagnosed with typhoid and malaria.
