                                                Operatives of the Rumuepirikom Division of the Rivers State Police Command, on October 18, 2016, arrested three suspected fraudsters in connection with circulating fake currency notes. They are Andrew Ogah ‘m’, Ozoemena Okeke ‘m’, and Helen Ozoemena Okeke ‘f’.          They have photocopied N500 and N1000 denomination notes of Nigeria currencies and were arrested when Mr. Andrew went to deposit the money in a new generation bank. Investigation is ongoing at the Division as the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations is completed. In my environment, I notice a particular couple who are always at each other necks, they quarrel most of the time, disturbing the peace of the neighborhood and I began to wonder what could be the cause of their almost every day fight.  Even on the pages of newspaper, there are cases of husbands beating up their wives, boyfriends assaulting their girlfriends and this prompted me to observe and engage in a discussion with few married people to know the causes of disputes and how it can be resolved.                                      Four people, including a mother and her two children, were killed yesterday when an articulated vehicle lost control  at Ojaoba, Ibadan, Oyo State capital, and ran into them. Four people were also injured. Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred at 7.45 am, adding that the truck, registered as AGL883XQ, swerved to the other side, colliding with parked cars and tricycles picking up passengers. The truck driver, according to reports, came to Beere to offload cement, and later  faced Oja’ba towards Molete when its brake failed. It ran into vehicles and tricycles parked beside the road, scampering passersby, and as it approached Isale Ijebu, Kobomoje, the driver swerved to the other side and hit a shop. The truck blocked the road, leading to a gridlock, obstructing vehicles from Molete to Beere. An eyewitness, Alhaja Aminat Bioku, said: “It was like a movie scene. The driver lost control of the vehicle, probably due to brake failure.

Serial kidnappers arrested while withdrawing ransom from bank Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State Police Command have smashed a kidnap gang responsible for numerous kidnap cases in Eleme area of the state. Acting on a tip-off, the operatives were able to arrest Stanley Mgbiri, Mkpowu Blessing and Micheal Hope. The trio are responsible for the kidnap of a 9-year-old girl, Miracle John, at Igbo Etche. They were arrested when they threatened to kidnap one Osato Nwakaji. They asked him to pay the sum of N3m into a certain bank account. They threatened to kidnap him as they did to a certain staff of NNPC, from whom they collected a ransom of N12m, and yet killed. As a bait, the sum of N100,000 was paid into their account and when they went to withdraw it, they were arrested.
