Ogobuchi Ogbonna, 25, was yesterday, remanded in prison custody for causing the death of Wisdom Ogbonna Amagu , 3, in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, on September, 9, 2016. He allegedly tied a stone to Wisdom’s waist and threw him into a stream at Ndievor-Nchoko, Igbeagu community in Izzi LGA. . . Ogobuchi confessed to the crime. Wisdom’s father, Amagu Ogbonna, said: “Ogobuchi told us that he is the one that killed Wisdom. We asked him why he killed his brother and he said a spirit directed him to do that." . . He noted that Ogobuchi was hale and hearty and had no history of mental problem, which has put the family at a loss as to why he committed the crime. He has been arraigned on a one-count charge of unlawfully causing the death of Wilson.

Mary J Blige recently filed for divorce, but things may start to get ugly if we are to believe the news... The Queen of Hip Hop R&B's soon to be ex husband, Kendy Isaacs, is seeking spousal suppport- probably a lot of it.  According to TMZ, Isaacs has answered Blige's petition for divorce by asking for spousal support, although she has requested it to be denied. Reportedly he is also asking that Blige pays his legal fees.  Blige and Isaacs were married in 2003 and he has served as her manager as well. Today is the saddest day in my life. I was at the bustop going to shop when i saw a woman seriously complaining about her stolen phone. So I went near her to listen to what she was saying.. I was also downloading something with my phone at that same time.. immediately she saw my phone she told the crowd that's her phone which was Samsung Edge 6plus.. For a moment i couldn't even open my mouth, i was so confused. she held me and slapped me. the crowd attempted to beat me up. But luckily a policeman was passing by and he came into the scene. He asked what was going on and i explained with tears all over my face.. He sent me to the police station together with the woman and I still explained to the policeman that i was innocent.. So the policeman asked the woman to call her phone.. she called and a girl picked and told the woman it was her daughter.The girl told the woman that she left her phone at home when she was leaving to town... The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared the former governor of Katsina state, Ibrahim Shema wanted for criminal conspiracy, inflation of contracts, abuse of office, diversion of funds and embezzlement running into billions of naira. The former governor ignored all invitations by the commission since December 1,2015 when he was first summoned by the agency.All efforts to locate him at his known address in Katsina and Abuja were futile...... Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency has confirmed to the BBC that former first lady Patience Jonathan is taking the agency to court following an investigation into the four of her bank accounts. But the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) refused to confirm whether it had blocked any of her funds. A letter from her lawyers,  published in several Nigerian newspapers , alleges that $15m (£11.4m) was blocked in July – and that the money is for the former first lady to settle medical bills abroad. Her lawyers, Granville Abibo (SAN) and Co, told the BBC the firm had written to the EFCC on her behalf but refused to give further information. Muhammadu Buhari won elections last year, when he beat former President Goodluck Jonathan, promising to fight corruption. RIVERS State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, said on Wednesday that the recent utterances of Edo State, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, was an indication that he (Oshiomhole) was panic-stricken over the forthcoming governorship election in Edo. Wike stated that Oshiomhole’s inconsistencies had shown that the people of Edo had rejected the All Progressives Congress in the state.  He stated that it was “completely” untrue that he and his Delta State counterpart, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, mobilised militants to Edo State. The governor further denied the allegation by    Oshiomole that he sent N2 billion to Edo State PDP governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu. The police in Lagos State have arrested a 26-year-old undergraduate, Ademola Adebayo, for allegedly defrauding seven ladies he met on  Facebook . Our correspondent learnt that Adebayo, a 400-Level student of Computer Science, allegedly lured the ladies by uploading some rich pictures on Facebook , and asking his victims to meet him at a location, usually a hotel on the pretext that he had deals for them. PUNCH Metro  gathered that when the ladies showed up at the agreed location, the suspect would dispose them of their phones and other valuables. The police alleged that Adebayo worked with an accomplice, 35-year-old Toheeb Fetuga, who had also been arrested. It was learnt that the suspect was arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, where one of the victims reported the matter. A group of bandits suspected to be ritual killers on Sunday stabbed a woman identified as Mrs. Comfort Jackson to death.  The incident happened in Rumuekini community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.  Mrs. Jackson, who was recently delivered of a set of triplets, was allegedly murdered at her husband’s residence in Rumuekini. A source in the area, who gave his name simply as Mr. Jonathan, disclosed that the unknown killers broke into the home of the deceased and stabbed her to death with a knife. Jonathan told Southern City News that the babies were abandoned by the killers after executing the dastardly act.  He added that the killers also opened Comfort’s stomach and removed her intestine after killing her.  Jonathan noted that neighbours only came out later to meet the lifeless body of the woman in a pool of her blood, alleging that the victim’s husband had just travelled before the incident occurred.  The source said the incide...
