Man Arrested For Tying His Stepbrother With Stone And Drown Him



Ogobuchi Ogbonna, 25, was yesterday, remanded in prison custody for causing the death of Wisdom Ogbonna Amagu , 3, in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, on September, 9, 2016. He allegedly tied a stone to Wisdom’s waist and threw him into a stream at Ndievor-Nchoko, Igbeagu community in Izzi LGA. .

Ogobuchi confessed to the crime. Wisdom’s father, Amagu Ogbonna, said: “Ogobuchi told us that he is the one that killed Wisdom. We asked him why he killed his brother and he said a spirit directed him to do that." .

He noted that Ogobuchi was hale and hearty and had no history of mental problem, which has put the family at a loss as to why he committed the crime. He has been arraigned on a one-count charge of unlawfully causing the death of Wilson.

Film-makers reject dubbing of Chinese films into Yoruba, Hausa

Top indigenous film-makers and actors that include Dele Odule, Jide Kosoko and Tunji Bamisigbin have opposed an alleged plan by a pay-TV provider, Star Times, to broadcast Chinese films dubbed into Yoruba and other indigenous languages. According to them, the development is capable of destroying the indigenous film industry.
